What is focus of The Gospels - Children's Ministry Curriculum?

Through the lens of all four Gospel books, we see a picture of Jesus.

Jesus - Man, human and real just like us.
Jesus - Miracles, supernatural and holy and,
Jesus - Messiah, the rescuer for all.

We pray that children will discover more about Jesus and be in awe of who He is, in the Gospels and in their own lives. We hope this series is a blessing to your church, your children’s ministry and you as a leader. We seek to create resources that help you to make church the best experience for the children in your community.

What lessons are available from The Gospel's - Children's Ministry Curriculum?

BiG PICTURE: JESUS - MAN

BiG WORD: “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” John 1:14 (NLT)

BiG IDEA 1: Down to Earth (1.1)
BiG POINT: Jesus was fully God and fully man
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- discover that Jesus was both full God and fully Man.
- learn about Jesus as a young boy at the temple.
- be introduced to the Gospels as an account of Jesus' life on earth

BiG IDEA 2: Walk This Way (1.2)
BiG POINT: Jesus gives us an example to follow
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- know that Jesus gives us an example to follow.
- discover that Jesus showed the disciples, and us, how to show God's love.
- learn that through the power of the Holy Spirit we can live in a way that follows Jesus' example.

BiG IDEA 3: Been There Done That (1.3)
BiG POINT: Jesus understands my whole world
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- discover that Jesus experienced life as a human being just like us.
- know that Jesus understands and can relate to us in every situation.
- learn from the gospel account of Lazarus that Jesus experienced friendship, sadness, empathy and joy.

BiG PICTURE: JESUS - MIRACLES

BiG WORD: “Jesus looked at them and said, “There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything.”” Mark 10:27 (CEV)

BiG IDEA 1: Impossible Is Nothing (2.1)
BiG POINT: The possibilities are endless with God
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- know that Jesus performed impossible miracles.
- learn that nothing is impossible with God.
- discover the gospel account of Jesus feeding the 5,000.

BiG IDEA 2: Miracle Maker (2.2)
BiG POINT: We have healing because of Jesus
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- discover that we can have healing in Jesus' name.
- understand that Jesus still heals today.
- learn the gospel account of Jesus healing a blind man.

BiG IDEA 3: Dead End? (2.3)
BiG POINT: Jesus has power over death 
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- discover that Jesus raised people from the dead.
- understand that Jesus has power over sin and death.
- know that we have eternal life through Jesus Christ.

BiG PICTURE: JESUS - MESSIAH

BiG WORD: “(These miracles)… are written so that you will put your faith in Jesus as the Messiah and the Son of God. If you have faith in him, you will have true life.” John 20:31 (CEV)

BiG IDEA 1: Told You So (3.1)
BiG POINT: Jesus the Messiah was God’s plan all along
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- know that Jesus was God's plan all along.
- discover that Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies that He was the Messiah.
- learn that Jesus spoke God's truth.

BiG IDEA 2: Cross Road (3.2)
BiG POINT: Jesus the Messiah made a way for salvation
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
- know that Jesus the Messiah died on the cross to take the punishment for our sins.
- understand that it's only through Jesus that we can have a relationship with God.
- discover the gospel account of Jesus and the sinner on the cross.

BiG IDEA 3: King of Kings (3.3)
BiG POINT: Jesus the Messiah is our King
At the conclusion of this lesson, children will:
 - know that Jesus the Messiah is our King.
- learn that Jesus the King of Kings will return.
- understand that Jesus has authority over everything.
